Local Community Partner Commends Our Social Services
A sincere letter from one of our local community partners spotlighted the services we provide to those in need in our community. Well deserved, KUDOS, to our Social Service staff who serve those in need every Monday-Friday at 416 S. Madison St., Rockford.
Here is the letter shared from one of many community partners:
Dear Major Mark Martsolf,
I am writing to you on behalf of both myself, and on behalf of clients the pantry serves.
The Salvation Army food pantry down on Madison street has been a priceless resource for those in need in the Rockford area community. The pantry provides not only food and household necessities, but it also provides a support for those who are struggling with support at home. The pantry staff make everyone who walks through the door feel supported, loved, and cared for. This steady presence is so very important for the population they serve.
The staff in the office work tirelessly to provide the most they can, and help fill a gap in the services provided elsewhere in the community. There is no judgment when you walk through the doors, and very little questions asked of the client. Felicia especially repeatedly goes above and beyond her job description in helping clients get their needs met. She works very hard to build rapport with every single client, and her relationship with the folks she serves reflects this. Being a service provider myself, I know my folks look forward to going into the office every month not only for the food, but for the kindness the staff provide them.
Thank you so much for continuing this service, the community benefits greatly from your generosity and support.
Bless,
Megan, Case Manager
