Coats for Kids Campaign Works to Keep the Community Warm
SHEBOYGAN, WI (October 28, 2021) – The Coats for Kids community service campaign wraps up at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home on Monday, November 1. While the need in the community for warm winter wear is expected to increase, the number of donated coats received so far have decreased.
Normally a one-day distribution, The Salvation Army is spreading it out this year over two days and in a new location. A warm winter wear pop-up shop will be set up at The Salvation Army’s previous thrift store location of 1029 Michigan Avenue in downtown Sheboygan. No appointment is necessary for residents of Sheboygan County to visit the shop during the distribution dates of Thursday, November 4 from 3pm to 6pm and Friday, November 5 from 9am to noon. A limited supply of adult coats will be available.
Area residents are asked to donate new coats of any size, for any age including adults. Due to additional safety precautions this year, donations of used coats will not be accepted. The greatest need is for new children’s coats and larger sized new adult coats. The last day to drop off coat donations at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home located at 1535 South 12th St. in Sheboygan is Monday, November 1 between 8:30am and 4pm.
