HSA Bank Wins Annual Battle of the Banks & Credit Unions
SHEBOYGAN, WI (December 10, 2022) On Wednesday, December 7 staff from nine area financial institutions participated in the annual Battle of the Banks & Credit Unions. In just one day this friendly competition raised a record-breaking $8,332 to support the social service programs offered to the community by The Salvation Army. Staff members from each financial institution gave it their all by ringing, singing, and spreading Christmas cheer. For the second year in a row HSA Bank won the battle by raising $2,158 while ringing over the course of twelve hours at Walmart on the southside of Sheboygan.
This year both the battle and the need for help grew tremendously. As thousands of people living in Sheboygan County struggle with the ongoing impacts of the pandemic, inflation, evictions, job loss, and more, The Salvation Army is committed to providing service and love to those in need this Christmas season and beyond. Thank you to each and every bank and credit union staff member that gave of their time and energy to help others.

Now in its 132nd year, the annual Red Kettle Campaign is one of the longest-running and most recognizable fundraising efforts in the world. Donations to red kettles in Sheboygan County help support those in need by providing basic necessities like food, shelter, clothing, and financial assistance. The Salvation Army Sheboygan’s Christmas fundraising goal for 2022 is $725,000. Of that overall goal we hope $120,000 comes from donations placed in the red kettles. Volunteering to ring bells at a red kettle is open to all. Sign up for a 2-hour shift at a time and location that works for you by visiting www.RegisterToRing.com or calling 920-694-1271.
