Siouxland Salvation Army in Need of Springtime Volunteers
Warmer temperatures and sunnier days mean spring decluttering -- which is why The Siouxland Salvation Army is calling for up to a dozen volunteers to help staff its Family Store & Donation Center, located at 1901 Cornhusker Dr. in South Sioux City.
Volunteers are needed to stock shelves, organize merchandising activities and assist with cleanup between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Volunteers are not required to commit to a schedule; volunteering for even a few hours at a time or a day or two per week is encouraged.
In addition, the Siouxland Salvation Army is also looking for a qualified individual to teach basic music classes for a six-week period on Mondays from 4 to 6:30 p.m. as part of the Fine Arts Night program.
“Volunteers are the backbone of the Salvation Army here in Siouxland—as they are all around the world,” said Capt. April Clarke. “This spring, we’re looking for community-minded, energetic people to assist us in keeping two critical services going strong. By giving just a little bit of your time each week, you can make a huge difference for people in need.”
