The Weekly Word - A Devotion for the Week of January 17

Our culture insists that we stay busy at all times in order to get ahead and make the most of our days. But as we read in today’s Scripture, even Jesus withdrew from the demands of his ministry from time to time to retreat, rest and pray. Jesus reminds us that needing rest and quiet time with God is not a sign of weakness or failure. This week, may we listen to the Spirit, who knows when our souls need to be replenished with rest, and may we heed His gentle nudge. Amen.
