The Weekly Word - A Devotion for the Week of May 16

May 12, 2022

It’s that time of year again in the Midwest. Drive by a freshly plowed and planted cornfield, and you will likely see row after row of green seedlings sprouting up through the rich soil. These seedlings and this soil are an apt metaphor for our lives in Christ. In other words, what you harvest depends first on where you plant your seeds. Take a look at your “soil” – your soul – today. Have you nourished your innermost self with prayer, Scripture, stillness and rest?
