The Salvation Army has changed lives and given hope to countless people throughout the nation. But it never does it alone.

Volunteer your timE

There are many different ways to get involved with The Salvation Army. We offer volunteers a chance to change people's lives across a wide range of activities and programs - all the while, being changed themselves.

All of our volunteer opportunities are coordinated locally, where our staff understands exactly how you can be of the most help to most people.

General Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Answer phones and take messages
  • Helping in our Basic Needs Pantry
  • Help at our Thrift Store

To get started, please contact Cheryl Young, Office Administrator at (715) 394-7001 or Cheryl_Young@usc.salvationarmy.org.

Ring Bells

Most people are familiar with our red kettles and hear those bells ringing at locations throughout Superior. The funds raised during November and December stay in our community to assist with emergencies like:

  • Utility disconnects
  • Rent when evication notices are received
  • Motel rooms when emergencies arise such as a house fire or to assist a stranded motorist due to inclement weather
  • Gasoline for vehicles to travel to work

Potential volunteers for ringing may click here to view our online schedule, email Captain Jasen Elcombe at Jasen_Elcombe@usc.salvationarmy.org, or call him (715) 969-7345.
