Community Partners Are Vital to Our Work

Feb 6, 2024

The Salvation Army values and seeks community partners because we know they are key to creating a strong community. When supportive relationships and programs exist, it creates an environment where everyone can thrive.

Community partners help the pooling of resources and capabilities, making it possible for us to do more with less. By sharing financial resources, labor, technology, and more, we reduce our costs and improve operational efficiency. They also eliminate redundancy and enhance the effectiveness of community initiatives.

Many of the issues facing communities today are complex. They require diverse partners to help address them. That’s why The Salvation Army collaborates with:

Nonprofits that share a similar mission. They understand our unique challenges, and everyone benefits from exchanging best practices, contacts, and information.

For-profit businesses that want to be more socially responsible. They offer financial support, in-kind donations, and volunteering initiatives.

Schools, colleges, and universities that give students and staff members an opportunity to make an impact in the community. They provide a large volunteer base, resources, research, and educational support.

Government agencies help streamline work efforts, offer access to resources, provide grants, and create supportive policies.

Churches, synagogues, mosques, and other religious institutions have a strong community presence, and through financial donations and volunteers, they come alongside us on long- and short-term projects.

Foundations provide help in terms of funding, support and awareness.

Salvation Army advisory board members are residents and leaders with specialized knowledge, experience, and skills. Their dedication and perspectives are invaluable contributions to the work we do.

Philanthropists are passionate about a specific cause. They provide financial support, expertise, skillsets, and access to networks that positively impact the world.

Community partnerships are vital, and we need people like YOU to help us. By working together and prioritizing the greater good, we can build stronger, more resilient communities for years to come.
