For the third year in a row, Entenmann’s Bakery is helping The Salvation Army celebrate the sweetest holiday of all time, the 76th annual National Donut Day, recognized this year on Friday, June 7.

The first National Donut Day was celebrated by The Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to help raise needed funds during the Great Depression and commemorate the work of the “donut lassies” who helped make the donut what it is today by feeding the tasty confection to American soldiers during World War I. The donuts became synonymous with The Salvation Army, as well as the American soldiers who were returning home with the nickname, “doughboys.” 76 years later, we’re still celebrating this tasty tradition as a way to help raise awareness for The Salvation Army and to honor the service of our valued veterans and volunteers alike.
In continued support of The Salvation Army, from May 1st to June 15th, Entenmann’s Bakery will donate $1 to the organization for every person who “likes” the Entenmann’s Facebook page (find it here: https://www.facebook.com/entenmanns), up to $30,000!
And starting today, fans have the chance to win ‘Free Donuts for a Year’ and additional prizes through a sweepstakes link on the Entenmann’s Facebook page.*
Only 46 days left until National Donut Day, but don’t let that stop you picking up some Entenmann’s today!
*All entries must be received by June 30. Official Rules can be found at www.entenmanns.com.
