While fire fighters were on the scene of fires at TRANE and the Wall Street triplex, the Red Cross and Salvation Army responded to support victims and first responders.

The Salvation Army said there is a long standing agreement between the two agencies that the Red Cross will assist victims with their immediate needs and the Salvation Army will assist first responders.

The Salvation Army had a food truck on the scene keeping first responders hydrated and energized.

"People want to know that people respond," Tony Hall, Emergency Disaster Services Volunteer, Salvation Army said.  "That their needs either emotional, spiritual, psychological or social needs or just being there for them is the most important."

The Red Cross said they put the victims up in a hotel room for three nights and also gave them a debit card to buy clothes and food because they lost everything.

The Salvation Army said we're fortunate to live in a community that is very generous, which makes it easier for them to help during a disaster.
