The Salvation Army Responds to Storms in Rochester Hills, MI
Emergency Disaster Services providing support to first responders and victims
The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) is providing aid to first responders and victims affected by the storms that caused severe damage to many homes in the area.
The Salvation Army’s EDS team is providing coffee, hot chocolate, water, snacks and blankets from one mobile canteen at Van Hoosen Middle School, 1339 N. Adams Road in Rochester Hills. EDS will also be serving lunch, including hot dogs to the first responders and victims.
The Salvation Army responds to calls for help from local authorities and becomes part of the Emergency Operation Center set up in times of disaster. The Salvation Army’s emergency staff and volunteers are trained both in food service and Critical Incident Stress Management.
