The Salvation Army Rehabilitation Centers Announce Launch of New E-Commerce Site

May 27, 2021

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) Command, in partnership with the Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center and its 31 Thrift Stores, will reach a historic milestone by launching shopsastores.org, an eBay for Charity online storefront this June. It will allow customers an opportunity to shop from the comfort of their homes using mobile devices.

After years of researching the expansion of retail operations with an online presence that complements their brick-and-mortar stores—all benefitting the men and women who come to The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers seeking help—this vision is made possible by a partnership with eBay for Charity and Upright Labs.

“We’re excited to finally move in this direction,” said Major Randall Polsley, Commander of the Adult Rehabilitation Centers in the Central Territory (Midwest US). “This launch is long overdue. It provides us with additional opportunities to achieve our long-term goals, while continuing to serve men and women in communities all over the country.”

The online site will allow consumers to purchase a variety of items including apparel, footwear, jewelry and more! People are invited to use this safe and convenient alternative shopping platform, which will be expanded over time. It is another way to partner with shoppers and patrons who support the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers in Detroit, MI, and beyond.

Traditional Salvation Army Thrift Stores will continue to operate, and their locations can be found at: sastores.org.
