We Make an Impact that Will Last a Lifetime

Approximately 17 percent of kids in South Dakota live below the federal poverty level, which means they often don't have access to the same educational, enrichment and social opportunities of their more privileged peers.

Our character building programs introduce kids to new experiences that broaden their worlds. Our positive, nurturing community gives them a safe place to learn and grow.

How We Empower Youth

We provide a safe environment, positive adult mentors, and programs that build the character, enrich the mind and feed the spirit of young children and teens alike.

FEAST (Families Eating and Serving Together)

These programs take place every Wednesday during the school year starting with dinner at 5:30 p.m.

Junior Soldiers  |  Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
Each week, children ages 4-12 participate in games, crafts and Bible lessons.

Character Building  |  Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
Approximately 40 kids and teens in preschool through 12th grade participate in our character building programs, which offer the opportunity for boys and girls to develop strong character as well as communication, decision-making, and leadership skills. These programs also allow young people to grow spiritually, mentally, physically and socially while exploring God's Word and His world.

  • Moonbeams - boys and girls preschool through kindergarten
  • Sunbeams - girls in first through fifth grades
  • Girl Guards - girls in sixth through 12th grades
  • Explorers - boys in first through fifth grades
  • Rangers -  boys sixth through 12th grades

Corps Cadets |  Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
Youth in 7th grade and up who are enrolled as Junior or Senior Soldiers are invited to participate in this training program and discipleship course focusing on spiritual growth, leadership development, growing their knowledge of Salvation Army history and evangelism training.
