Waukesha County Salvation Army reaches Red Kettle Campaign goal
Particularly thankful because calendar Christmas season was shortest possible
WAUKESHA — Supporters of the Salvation Army of Waukesha County, as well as those who benefit from its services, had a huge reason to celebrate Tuesday — the nonprofit organization announced it has reached its year-end Red Kettle Campaign goal of $800,000.
“First and foremost, we pray for our donors and volunteers, thanking them for their generous support of the work of the Waukesha County Corps. Money follows mission, and if you’re doing the right things, resources for what is needed arrive — we need to have faith in that,” said Major Tim Nauta.
The Salvation Army of Waukesha County offers a variety of services to help area residents with different needs, including a homeless shelter in Waukesha. It also provides food and feeding programs, youth ministry, Community Care Ministry, and emergency disaster services.
“We also need to review the locations where we ring, and as the county continues to grow, we need to look for busy retail or grocery locations that support our mission, and want us to be there at their front door at Christmastime. We cannot begin to do this alone — we definitely need enthusiastic partners in our mission and charitable work,” Nauta said.
