Miracle on Madison Donation Drive Celebrates 11th Anniversary
Each year during the holiday season, the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC) embraces one of its most successful charitable events on behalf of The Salvation Army— the Miracle on Madison.
Since 2015, DAC members have organized an annual campaign to provide gifts and monetary support to children spending Christmas in a Salvation Army shelter in the Detroit area.
DAC doormen assist people bringing in the coats and toys, and the clubs within the DAC also continue to be generous donors including the Beavers, Executive Club, Fitness Club, Men’s and Ladies Bowlers and the Intermediates. This year, College Hunks Moving generously volunteered their time and talent to collect and distributed the donated toys.

The campaign began as a drop-off toy drive in The Madison Café & Shop and has since grown into a club-wide and virtual donation drive, inspiring members to conduct the drive at their own businesses. This year marks the 11th anniversary of the Miracle on Madison partnership with the DAC.
This year several hundred coats and several hundred toys were collected along with approximately $20,000 in cash donations from DAC members and local business owners with ties to DAC members.
Miracle on Madison sub-committee members include Jeffrey Moore, Tim Ross, Hannah Ayrault and Brenda Schneider. The Detroit Athletic Club staff that were instrumental in supporting this effort include Charles Johnson, Nikki Carter, Eric Reiter, and Sophia Wahl.
The Salvation Army is grateful for the generosity of everyone involved in Miracle on Madison.
If you would you like to follow their example and share in The Salvation Army’s mission to Do The Most Good, there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer or donate to The Salvation Army.
