CHRISTMAS IN JULY CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS YEAR-ROUND SERVICES FOR NEIGHBORS IN NEED
There’s still time to donate to The Salvation Army of Petoskey’s 2025 Christmas in July campaign through the end of July. To date it has raised $6,000, but more support is needed to meet the growing needs of families in Emmet, Charlevoix, and Antrim counties who are struggling with rising living expenses.
On Friday, July 11, bell ringers were stationed at various locations across the region to raise funds and awareness. Dedicated community partners, including the Central Lake Lion’s Club (ringing at Merrie’s Market and Eastport Market) and the Elk Rapids Rotary Club (ringing at the Village Market), played a vital role in the campaign’s success.
“Christmas in July not only raises funds for those we serve, but also reminds our community that the need exists year-round,” said Envoy Roman Hank. “With the cost of food and other essentials rising due to inflation, more of our neighbors are turning to us for help—many for the first time.”
The Salvation Army extends heartfelt thanks to the businesses that hosted Red Kettles, including:
- Elk Rapids Village Market
- Merrie’s Market (Central Lake)
- Eastport Market
- Oleson’s Food Stores
- Louie’s Fresh Markets
- Walmart
- City of Petoskey
- Harbor Springs Market
