ELK RAPIDS RED KETTLE RAISED OVER $11,000 AT THE VILLAGE MARKET
2023 RED KETTLE CAMPAIGN RAISED OVER 11,000 AT THE ELK RAPIDS VILLAGE MARKET THANKS TO THE ROTARY CLUB AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS
January 10, 2024, ELK RAPIDS, MI- The Village Market in Elk Rapids not only allowed The Salvation Army of Petoskey to ring bells during the 2023 holiday season, but also kindly set up the kettle stand for ringers through the month of December. Money raised during the Red Kettle Campaign helps struggling individuals and families in Antrim County with basic human needs such as heat, rent, electricity and much more. This holiday season, it raised $11,213 at the Elk Rapids Village Market.
Elk Rapids Rotarians have always put many hours in but worked extra hard to fill bell-ringing shifts this year. They along with Interact, Indigenous Youth, Lakeland’s 4th Grade Girls Soccer and Basketball Teams and other compassionate members of the community logged 138 volunteer hours at the Red Kettle.
“We are very humbled by the amount of compassion and generosity for others that is shown by the Rotarians and the Elk Rapids community. What a great gift to share the love of Christ as he would by ensuring neighbors are warm, have enough to eat and have access to other basic survival needs” says Envoy Roman Hank.
Without the help of the Elk Rapids Rotarians and community, The Salvation Army of Petoskey could never staff all the hours it takes to raise the amount of money they have which is so critical for those in need especially during the cold winter months.
