Great Lakes Energy People Fund Provides 100 Chairs for Community Center
GREAT LAKES ENERGY PEOPLE FUND REPLACES 100 CHAIRS IN THE SALVATION ARMY COMMUNITY CENTER
February 4, 2020, Petoskey, MI- The Salvation Army, Petoskey Corps received a $2,820.01 from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund to replace chairs in the Community Center which hosts many programs such as Friday Night Live Community Dinners, monthly Addiction Recovery Support Dinner Meetings, After School Program, Adventure Corps and more.
Envoy Greg Irwin says “Aside from being unsightly, the chairs we had were old and becoming increasingly uncomfortable and unstable which is a concern when we serve so many elderly every Friday night at our Community meals. I would like to thank the Great Lakes Energy People Fund which has provided stable, comfortable, functional chairs that will last a long time”.
Members of Great Lakes Energy support the People Fund by voluntarily rounding up their bills to the next highest dollar. The rounded up amount is distributed to non-profit organizations and charitable activities that benefit people in the communities served by the cooperative.
