Application for Financial Assistance

Welcome!  This form is used to gather initial intake and eligibility information for those seeking financial assistance from The Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids (serving Linn County & Anamosa).  Submission of this form is only for initial screening and is not approval of assistance.

Applications for financial assistance are accepted the 1st - 7th of each month.  February's open applications will be: February 1st - 7th, 2023.

Every application received during the open application time is give an equal and equitable opportunity to be reviewed for help within our guidelines and capacity to serve the need presented.  We do not award funding on a first come, first served basis.

If you're in need of help completing this form, please contact our office at: Office: (319)-364-9131 or
Email: SACedarRapids@usc.SalvationArmy.org

Note that our rent assistance program requires that the household have a source of income to showcase that the living situation is feasible (those with no income will not be eligible for rental assistance), along with an ability to showcase a documented and verifiable financial crisis which made paying the rent not possible.

For utility assistance from The Salvation Army, our assistance must prevent the disconnection of the utility.  Priority is given to households where there is a verifiable and documented financial crisis which made paying for the utility bill not possible.

Review process:  Applications will be reviewed, not on a first come-first served basis, but equally and equitably at the end of the open application period.  Households will be contacted by phone/email to inform them of the initial screening eligibility.
