Salvation Army To Host Fundraiser for Housing Services
After a year of change and an unprecedented need for folks experiencing homelessness in our community, The Salvation Army is excited to host a fundraiser to support shelter, housing programs, summer camps and children’s programming, and much more for people right here in Dane County.
What: The Salvation Army’s Tin Cup Lunch

The Tin Cup Lunch is scheduled for June 9th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM with options to attend in-person or at-home. Speakers connected to The Salvation Army will share about their work in the community, and folks who have benefited from the services of The Salvation Army will share their stories of hope.
“We’re excited to be able to host this annual fundraiser again this year,” says Steve Heck, Director of Operations and Development at The Salvation Army. “We saw a huge leap in people needing services over the last year, and we could not do what we do without support at events like the Tin Cup Lunch.”
The in-person event has a limited number of tables, with a free lunch included, at Marriott West (1313 John Q Hammons Dr). The current guidelines are: three attendees will be seated at each table, with a six-foot distance between tables, masks will be required, and attendees are encouraged to use hand sanitizer frequently. Those who are sick or live with someone with a positive COVID-19 test are asked to tune in virtually.
For those more comfortable attending the event from home, with the support of Hinckley Productions, there’s a livestream option. Those who RSVP to the virtual presentation will receive an email with a link to the presentation one week before the event.
