Twice the Blessings! Donations to Red Kettles Doubled this Weekend

Nov 28, 2023

'Tis the season to be generous! A local Tippecanoe County couple has decided to use their generosity to encourage holiday shoppers to donate to The Salvation Army. On Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2, all donations made to the iconic Red Kettles will be doubled up to $5,000 thanks to this special anonymous gift.

Lafayette ringers.jpg Donations made to The Salvation Army's Red Kettles fund programs and services throughout the year, helping thousands of local residents find the help - and hope - they need. Whether through youth programs, the food pantry, or the innovative Pathway of Hope program, the Tippecanoe County families helped by The Salvation Army depend upon the generosity of shoppers giving to Red Kettles each holiday season.

"This gift is so important as we head into December and the busiest shopping days of the year," said Captain Rachel Johnson of The Salvation Army Lafayette Corps. "With the support of our community we are prayerful that we can meet our fundraising goal and continue to provide vital programs and services to our community in the new year."

Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle this week will find bell ringers at Walmart, Sam's Club, JCPenney, Hobby Lobby, and Kohl’s. Volunteer bell ringers are needed to ensure that the goal of raising $5,000 in just two days can be achieved. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this week is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule.
