For many of us, life’s necessities are easily taken for granted. But for neighbors in need, even the basics are often out of reach:

– Nourishing food that sustains the body and the soul
– A warm coat to ward off the chill of winter
– Medication to take when ill
– Water from the faucet and power from the outlet
– The joy that comes from gifts under the Christmas tree
– The comfort and security of home

For those struggling in the Fox Valley Region, The Salvation Army is there, a beacon of help and hope since 1885. We serve thousands of men, women and children annually, “Doing the Most Good,” each and every day of the year. But, we can’t do it without help.

MEET THE SALVATION ARMY RIVER RIDE

While the need for our services continues to grow rapidly, funding for these critical programs is increasingly difficult to secure. Seeing the opportunity to provide much-needed financial support while bringing a fun, new event to the Fox Valley Region, The Salvation Army River Ride was created, based off a similar successful event by The Salvation Army in the Sheboygan, WI area.

The first annual Salvation Army River Ride will take place on Saturday, September 28th. A ride, not a race, the event offers three beautiful routes along the Fox River Valley Trail. Ranging from 14.1 to 57 miles, the Ride has a route for participants of all skill levels. A host of ride-enhancing features include well-stocked rest stops, participant gift bags, and more.
