Community Center – After School and Summer Day Camp Programs here at The Sal

The Salvation Army Community Center offers two great seasonal programs for school-aged children, ages 5 through 13 years old.  While your children are enrolled in our programs, they will have many great learning opportunities in a Christian environment, while having fun as they interact with friends, mentors, our qualified staff and pastoral team.

We will also provide a structured and positive environment, keeping them active and safe while at the same time giving them the opportunity to learn about building relationships & the world around them.

In both programs, we have field trips, nutritious meal(s), arts and craft activities, supervised playtime both inside and outside, as well as programming focused on Christian values supporting our agency mission statement.

The Salvation Army’s After School

The Sal will be available to help families with childcare needs after school. We will be open from 3pm-6:30pm Monday-Friday for after school. We pick up from the following schools: York, Bissett, Weaver, Willard South, Willard Orchard Hills, Willard Intermediate South, & St. Joseph’s.

Program includes:

  • Dinner served daily from 4:30pm-5:30pm
  • Fun activities, games, & crafts, field trips occasionally
  • Schoolwork & homework assistance – computer lab available
  • State childcare subsidy accepted and scholarships available
  • All participants receive quality care from trained staff in a structured and safe environment with low student to teacher ratios, so you know your child is being well cared for.
