Community Center – After School and Summer Day Camp Programs here at The Sal

The Salvation Army Community Center offers two great seasonal programs for school-aged children, ages 5 through 13 years old.  While your children are enrolled in our programs, they will have many great learning opportunities in a Christian environment, while having fun as they interact with friends, mentors, our qualified staff and pastoral team.

We will also provide a structured and positive environment, keeping them active and safe while at the same time giving them the opportunity to learn about building relationships & the world around them.

In both programs, we have field trips, nutritious meal(s), arts and craft activities, supervised playtime both inside and outside, as well as programming focused on Christian values supporting our agency mission statement.

The Salvation Army’s After School & All Day Out Program

The Sal will be following the Springfield Public School’s Re-entry plan and will be available to help families with child care needs. We will be open from 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.  Monday-Friday. We will be picking up children from school on their assigned days as well. However to do all this we will be very limited in spaces and may have a waiting list.

We pick up from the following schools: York, Bissett, Bowerman, Weaver, Westport, Willard South, & St. Joseph’s.

Program includes:

  • Meals (Breakfast, Lunch, and snack)
  • Fun activities, games, & crafts, field trips occasionally
  • Schoolwork & homework assistance – computer lab available
  • State child care subsidy accepted and scholarships available
  • All participants receive quality care from trained staff in a structured and safe environment with low student to teacher ratios, so you know your child is being well cared for.

Fees:
$60 per child per week for SPS Students (who may attend 3 full days per week & two after school days per week & will receive breakfast, lunch, & an afternoon snack)
$25 per child per week for other schools who will attend after school ONLY (will receive an afternoon snack only)
$15 per child per full day rate for single days out of school (Snow Days, holidays, teacher work days)

All children must have a mask at The Sal and will be required to wear a mask on our vehicles.
