Echelon MKE to Ring It In with the Milwaukee Bucks this Friday
Local chapter of Salvation Army group aims to fill Red Kettles outside Fiserv Forum during Bucks vs Wizards game
MILWAUKEE - The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County’s Echelon MKE chapter will be ringing in the Christmas season from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Friday outside Fiserv Forum.
Echelon MKE is a young professional volunteer group that works year-round to end homelessness in Milwaukee. During Echelon's "Ringing in the Bucks" event, its 50 members will break into four teams (positioned at each corner of the new Fiserv Forum), each working to collect the highest donation amount in their red kettles.
The event will also feature:
- The Art of the Red Kettle display: Kettles painted by 10 local artists
- Hot Chocolate samples provided by Bob's Belgium Hot Chocolate
- Captain Red Kettle mascot
- Captain Food Fight mascot
- The Salvation Army Canteen (mobile feeding unit)
- Red Kettle Reason Signs: People can fill out why they donate to The Salvation Army
Donations from the Red Kettle Campaign, including Friday’s event at Fiserv Forum, directly impact 80 programs in Milwaukee County. Eighty-seven cents of every dollar raised is used to support programming. If you won’t be at Fiserv Forum on Friday night, you can still donate by texting BUCKS to 41444 or donating online at http://salar.my/BUCKS.

About The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865. Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. The Salvation Army tracks the level of need across the country with the Human Needs Index (Human NeedsIndex.org). Nationally, approximately 84 cents of every dollar raised is used to support programs and services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide.
