SAVE THE DATE: The Salvation Army To Host Pedal To The Kettle In 2019
Funds will support homeless children, youth programming

MILWAUKEE COUNTY – The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County will be hosting a bike ride during National Salvation Army Week in 2019.
Pedal to the Kettle, which will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, is an event open to bike ride enthusiasts, families, and all residents of Milwaukee County.

"Pedal to the Kettle is a ride. It is not a race," said Major Steve Merritt, Divisional Commander at The Salvation Army of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan. "Just like life, it is all about the journey, seeking out help and support along the way, stopping to refuel when necessary, and most importantly, enjoying the success of crossing the finish line."
If you don't wish to ride, supporters may still:

  • Sponsor a rider
  • Make a donation
  • Be a spectator

Funds raised at the ride will support The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County's homeless children and youth programming.
The ride will have varying route lengths to cater to different riders. The route paths are still being determined.

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865. Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. The Salvation Army tracks the level of need across the country with the Human Needs Index (HumanNeedsIndex.org). Locally, 87 cents of every dollar raised is used to support more than 80 programs and services.
