The Salvation Army’s Echelon To Host Red Tie in the Sky Gala
Gala to benefit homeless residents at the Emergency Lodge
MILWAUKEE - Join Echelon MKE for an event that will be the talk of the town…and the sky!
The first Red Tie in the Sky Gala will be held from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24 on the skywalk between Chase & ASQ on Water Street in Milwaukee. It will feature entertainment by DJ Four7, delicious appetizers, desserts and drinks. General admission and VIP tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at echelonmke.org.
Proceeds from the gala will help support Echelon MKE's annual Meaningful Makeover project, a weekend of reviving rooms and residents of The Salvation Army Milwaukee County’s homeless shelter, the Emergency Lodge. Funds will be used for makeovers in two rooms, and will provide as many as 20 residents with new haircuts, outfits and outlooks on life.
The gala will feature four different interactive stations for guests. They will give guests a hands-on experience of aiding in the relief of the homeless epidemic Milwaukee County faces, elevating the impact Meaningful Makeover has on those being served by The Salvation Army Milwaukee County.
“Red Tie in the Sky is going to be one of the most unique and interactive giving events Milwaukee has ever seen," said Rachel Idso, the Echelon MKE Events Committee Co-chair. "People are going to have an opportunity to see how their gifts directly impact the lives of the homeless in the city. We're having four hands-on stations for people to practice their skill at different techniques we utilize during our Meaningful Makeover weekend for The Salvation Army. I'm thrilled to see peoples' reactions to all of the exciting ideas we are planning all for the greater good. You are not going to want to miss this event!”
