"Hungry" is no way to spend childhood

Every day The Salvation Army helps cure hunger by providing nutritious meals to neighbors in need.

How we help cure hunger

Food Shelf
Our food shelves offer a wide range of groceries, allowing individuals and families in need to stretch their budgets. Food boxes may include shelf-stable pantry items, bread, cereals, meat, and other household necessities. On occasion, fresh produce is also made available. Our food shelf is open Mondays and Thursdays from 1:30 - 4 pm and is open to anyone residing in the state of Minnesota.

Medical Food Shelf
Most people think of a food shelf as a place that distributes food to people in financial need. Technically, that’s true. But there is one unique food shelf at the Duluth Salvation Army that goes an important step further in helping St. Louis County residents. This service specializes in distributing foods to people with a newly-diagnosed chronic or terminal illness. Available every Wednesday (by appointment only) from 1:30 - 3 p.m.

Community Lunch
We serve hot meals every Monday through Friday for those in need. Come in 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. All are welcome.
