Local Heroes to Ring Bells for The Salvation Army This Week
$1.6 million raised in Milwaukee County so far


MILWAUKEE COUNTY - Local heroes will ring bells in support of The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign this week. As of December 9, the Red Kettle Campaign has brought in $1.6 million in Milwaukee County. The goal for the 2020 holiday season is $3.1 million.

Celebrity Bell Ringing Day: Hero Edition will take place Thursday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Milwaukee Public Market, 400 N. Water Street. Firefighters and leadership with the Milwaukee Fire Department, as well as Milwaukee healthcare workers, will be ringing.

  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Milwaukee Fire Department - Engine 2 | North Entrance (Parking Lot)
  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Milwaukee Fire Department - Engine 2 | West Entrance (Water & St Paul)
  • 12 to 1 p.m. | Milwaukee Fire Department - Russell Rivard, Deputy Chief, Special Operations Command | East Entrance (St. Paul & Broadway)
  • 12 to 1 p.m. | Milwaukee Fire Department | North Entrance (Parking Lot)
  • 12 to 1 p.m. | Milwaukee Fire Department | West Entrance (Water & St Paul)
  • 4 to 5 p.m.| Progressive Community Health Centers | East Entrance (St. Paul & Broadway)
  • 4 to 5 p.m. | Progressive Community Health Centers | West Entrance (Water & St Paul)
  • 4 to 5 p.m. | Progressive Community Health Centers | North Entrance (Parking Lot)

The following day (Friday, Dec. 11), Milwaukee police officers will be ringing during the Milwaukee Police Department District Challenge (with Salvation Army Chaplains) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The officers will be ringing at the following locations:

  • District 1: Milwaukee Public Market, 400 N. Water Street
  • District 2: Cermak, 1236 S. Barclay St.
  • District 3: Walmart Market, 7025 W. Main St.
  • District 4: Pick ‘n Save, 7401 W. Good Hope Rd.
  • District 5: Pick ‘n Save, 1100 E. Garfield Ave.
  • District 6: Pick ‘n Save, 250 W. Holt Ave.
  • District 7: Pick ‘n Save, 5700 W. Capitol Dr.

Red Kettle Campaign donations support more than 80 programs and services in Milwaukee County, including the Feed The Kids summer meals program, the Toy Shop program, the Backpack and School Supplies program, Coats for Kids, Christmas Family Feast, and the Emergency Lodge homeless shelter.
