Our Mission guides the homeless

The Salvation Army offers a range of help, from preventative services to transitional housing support.

Need Assistance?

Housing is an important factor in our lives that we often take for granted. The security and stability of having a place to call home helps to create many of our daily successes. Without reliable housing, an individual is left unable to focus on other life challenges such as employment, food security or mental health.

This is why The Salvation Army offers a wide array of housing assistance and supportive services for local men women and children in need of shelter. Our work helps to bring that sense of security and stability which allows true healing and growth to begin for many of our local community members.

Emergency Shelters

The Salvation Army often opens its doors locally to provide a safe home for those facing extreme challenges. From threatening weather conditions to personal emergencies - our mission is accommodating to those who are seeking a safe place to rest and regain a sense of themselves.

Group Shelter Programs

Many local communities are blessed with group housing/shelter services that offer more than immediate safety and stability. These programs may serve whole families or be focused on offering assistance to men or women specifically. Group shelters are often underpinned by programming aimed at meeting other needs through case management, educational or employment guidance and other services that help individuals move back towards self-sufficiency.

Homeless Prevention

The Salvation Army is committed to not only meeting homelessness in our local communities, but also preventing it. Families or individuals who may be facing eviction, or other sudden loss of housing, can turn to our mission for a variety of services.

We offer one-time help through financial assistance for rent or utility costs; and also short-term help through transitional housing support for those who are 'working homeless' and need aid in reaching permanent housing.
