The Heartland Division provides a variety of programs to children from all backgrounds. These services create a safe place for local youth to play and learn in a supervised, constructive environment.
Local municipalities can sometimes struggle with funding extracurricular youth programs and that is why The Salvation Army works to keep these opportunities available to our communities. Our mission stands to offer a place for kids to come and grow alongside their neighbors in creative ways, without any the barriers to entry or discrimination.
Music & Creative Arts
The Salvation Army's empowerment of youth across the Heartland Division often comes from a place of creativity and freedom!
The divisional Youth Department, and other dedicated staff members, come together to provide children and young adults with the opportunity to explore their own creativity. This may take shape in the form of after school music programs and creative theater youth groups; or, it may be seen through seasonal services such as creative arts camp and youth retreats.

Summer Camp
The Salvation Army has a saying: Camp Changes Lives. The group of staff and volunteers who help during the summer at Camp Eagle Crest see this impact first hand.
Every year children from all across the Heartland Division participate in camp retreats that are full of different youth programs and activities. They leave with friends, memories and lessons that are carried forward for the rest of their lives. From recreation to skills-based games, camp truly is a life changing part of our mission!
