Morrie's Auto Group and The Salvation Army Team Up to Bring in 2 Million Pounds of Food!
This is a collective effort of Morrie’s Auto Group and The Salvation Army agencies, with food drives happening at over 100 locations during the month of March. This effort aids in providing relief to families and individuals struggling against rising food costs and other barriers. We expect an increased community need with the ending of state assistance programs such as WERA housing assistance and the Pandemic EBT program, which allowed for extra food share benefits.
Locally, with the ending of these benefits, families and individuals will be in need of extra resources to aid in the adjustment. A food pantry can help stretch extra dollars to help cover other bills, such as rent and utilities. With the non-perishables collected locally, we will be prepared to assist the community as needed and as supplies last through emergency pantry baskets.
To support this food drive, community members can drop off non-perishable food items off at The Salvation Army OR at the following locations within the La Crosse area:
- Onalaska Chevrolet - 531 Theater Rd, Onalaska, WI 54650
- Sparta Chevrolet - 1015 S Black River St, Sparta, WI 54656
- Sparta Ford - 615 S Black River St, Sparta, WI 54656
