GET INVOLVED

Volunteers are vital to running all programs at The Salvation Army of La Crosse County. We are grateful to the many individuals and groups who join our organization and donate their time.

In 2021, The Salvation Army volunteer team was made up of over 215 volunteers who served nearly 12,000 hours.

Our volunteers assist in serving meals, to sorting donations at our Thrift Store, and helping with all things Christmas!

Our volunteers are a huge part of "Doing the Most Good" in the community.

Year Round Opportunities

Thrift Store:
Help receive donations, sort and tag items, and hang clothes on racks. Some volunteers may work in the front of the store organizing shelves (Monday through Saturday).

Reminder that all donations and hours that are spent helping at the Thrift Store goes directly back to our shelter

Meal Program:
Help in the kitchen! Help prepare and serve food, as well as clean up afterward.

We serve 3 meals a day to our residents and provide lunch every day through our canteen window.

Seasonal Opportunities

Red Kettle Campaign: *November through December*
Ring bells at the familiar Red Kettles! This is our largest annual fundraiser and we depend on these funds to do all that we do throughout the year.

Christmas Registration: *November*
Volunteers help pick gifts for Angel Giving Tree, and Christmas Food Basket programs.

Angel Giving Tree: *November*
Volunteers help us make tags for the tree at Valley View Mall, check in gifts as they are brought to us and coordinate the distribution of the gift packages.

Christmas Food Basket Distribution: *December*
Help us give out food packages to families in time for their Christmas dinner.

We are so excited to help you find what interests you the most and how we can enhance our team with your time and talents.

If you have any other questions please call or email Willow Pecha, Community Relations Specialist at (608) 782-6126 or willow.pecha@usc.salvationarmy.org for inquiries on all volunteer opportunities.
