Welcome

We could not do what we do without the wonderful individuals and groups of people who come together and donate their time to us.

In 2019, The Salvation Army Volunteer Team was made up of around 6000 volunteers who have provided almost 27,000 hours of service.

Our volunteers participate in a wide range of things from serving meals in the kitchen, to sorting donations at our Thrift Store, and to filling Christmas food baskets!

Year Round Opportunities

Meal Program:
Help in the kitchen! Help prepare and serve food, as well as clean up afterward.

Currently with COVID-19 restrictions we serve 3 meals a day to our residents and provide one meal a day to the community (Monday through Saturday).

Thrift Store:
Help receive donations, sort and tag items, and hang clothes on racks. Some volunteers may work in the front of the store organizing shelves (Monday through Saturday).

Reminder that all donations and hours that are spent helping at the Thrift Store goes directly back to our shelter.

Drivers/Loaders:
Help pick up, load, and unload trucks of food from donors and local food drives. Duties may also include sorting and boxing food for storage.

Disaster Services:
Join our on call team that responds to fires, floods, and other disasters. The team serves meals and provides comfort to first responders and those affected by disaster. Initial training is required.

Seasonal Opportunities

Red Kettle Campaign: *November through December*
Ring bells at the familiar Red Kettles! This is our largest annual fundraiser and we depend on these funds to do all that we do throughout the year.

Christmas Registration: *November*
Volunteers help pick gifts for Angel Giving Tree, and Christmas Food Basket programs.

Angel Giving Tree: *November*
Volunteers help us make tags for the tree at Valley View Mall, check in gifts as they are brought to us and coordinate the distribution of the gift packages.
