Honored to Receive Your Prayer Requests

Jun 12, 2024

The Salvation Army accepts prayer requests so people can share concerns, burdens, and joy with others. Every day, people throughout the world tell us what is on their heart. Each story is different, but all of them are important to us and to God.

We’re blessed to offer this ministry to everyone, regardless of their faith. By lifting people’s needs and hopes to God, it’s one way we provide spiritual support for others. Additional ministries include counseling, worship services, and bible study groups.

According to Salvation Army Major Carol Wurtz, Territorial Headquarters Pastoral Care, “Prayers are answered in one of three ways: ‘Yes,’ ‘No,’ and ‘Wait.’ We only see part of the picture, but God sees the whole thing. That’s why we’re encouraged to seek His will when we pray, not just our own.”

God has promised to hear our prayers, but we know they are not always answered in the way in which we hope. Remember, He knows best. Try not to be discouraged or disappointed when He answers you. Instead, thank God for His love and learn to commit everything to Him in prayer.

All are welcome to submit confidential prayer requests to The Salvation Army Central Territory. Once received, they are directed to Major Wurtz, who personally reviews each one and initiates the prayer chain. She reads, prays, and responds to each one before passing them along to other people or groups to pray over.

“Never underestimate the power of prayer. We are honored to pray for you or someone you know.” said Major Wurtz. “If you need help growing in your faith and seeking guidance, The Salvation Army is happy to walk alongside you.
