Kierra's Story

Nov 2, 2022

After fleeing a domestic violence situation, Kierra and her two young children were suddenly and unexpectedly homeless. With no one to help and nowhere to go, Kierra found shelter in a public restroom at O’Hare Airport.

Three days later, the police found her and called The Salvation Army. The Shield of Hope center picked her up and provided food and a safe, private space for her and her two children. Within a week, The Salvation Army reunited Kierra with family members in a different state where Kierra and her children were safe.

When you support The Salvation Army, you do more than provide shelter, you help provide safety.
