How We Provide Outreach Care for the Community

At The Salvation Army we believe in serving those who are often forgotten and left behind by the larger society. This is why we provide community care outreach to the elderly, those in jail, with addictions, in hospitals, and those in other circumstances. 

Nursing Home Visitation (Limited due to COVID-19 regulations)
We provide seasonal and holiday gifts to nursing homes in the Owosso, Mi area through visitation, War Cry magazines, small gifts, special services, and other outreach events. Please contact our Program Coordinator to schedule a visit at your nursing home at 989-725-7485 ext 5101.

Jail Visitation (Limited due to COVID-19 regulations)
As we are able, and in accordance with local regulations, we are able at certain times to provide limited jail ministry to those in need in our community. Note: This program is currently in development and not active at this time. 

Care Kits 
From time to time we provide personal needs care kits to homeless and at risk individuals in the Shiawassee county region. Care kits can include items like blankets, hygiene products, food, and other critical items for those in need.

Human Trafficking Awareness

We occasionally hold human trafficking awareness events to help increase knowledge and awareness in regard to the horror of modern day sex slavery. Please visit our human trafficking awareness page to learn more about warning signs and how you can help.
